Here are some pictures of my new car. So far I am really enjoying it and plan on begin working on it soon. Any input on thoughts and ideas for it are greatly accepted. First step is body work and paint. Any thoughts, keep it orginal or go all out and make it something different?

i would say a lot depends on how deep your pockets are - body work and a sweet paint job would definitely make it your own - theres a lot of potential and already a sweet ride there my man :alien::alien:

I've always loved the heritage stripes. If it were me I would repaint with the same colors. But I've never been a fan of red interiors, so I might redo the interior a different color and paint the stripes to match. Like maybe go white with black stripes and black interior. Most auto parts stores sell a spray on fabric dye that would work well on the door panels, maybe get a new black carpet, paint the red plastic interior pieces with black Plastikote and have the seats recovered with black fabric. The wheels are nice, I would keep them unless you want to go bigger.

Here are some more pictures of my car. I absolutley hate the bass setup I have in the hatch but its just there until I can figure out what I really want back there and I know I have to build a custom box as well.

I also love the paint on the car already but also not a fan about the red interior, actually that is the only thing I dislike about the car. I thought about leaving the car white and changing the stripes to black and doing a black interior featuring some black leather seats from a 4th gen car.

Some of the 3rd gens have a panel that folds flat to the back where the hatch motor is and the plastic panel there has a lip to hold it in place. It's a perfect place to mount 2 12s and hide your wires and amp. I look for a pic to show you what I mean.

wow sick pictures! I would love to do a custom set-up like that in my hatch! Is that using the panel you where talking about or is that a custom box?

Where the 12s are at, some Camaros have a panel there originally. To mount subs in it I belive the panel needs to be rebuilt out of plywood but all your hardware and tapped holes are there already. Or you could even build you own setup pretty cheap.

I will be looking into building somehting, I have found some specs and dimensions online of recomended boxes to fit in that well. But I also may look into building a panel like that one shown in the pic instead of a complete MDF box. I'm not sure if I like the second piece there with the amp and 6x9's on it but everyones taste is always a little different.

If you want to go full custom then maybe you should try learn how to make fiberglass panels. You might be able to make new panels to the side with custom mounts 6X9s or anything that might fit there.
